Krispy Kreme’s Alleged Discrimination Towards Filipina Drew Flaks From Netizens
Krispy Kreme’s alleged act of discrimination and racist attitude towards a Filipina drew flaks from the social media users.
The New Zealand branch of the international doughnut brand ‘Krispy Kreme’ is under hot water after allegedly humiliating a Filipina in New Zealand because she was not qualified for the promo.
The Pinay customer together with her Kiwi boyfriend Christopher Smith has attended the promo of the first ever Krispy Kreme shop in New Zealand.
The promo provides a free box of doughnuts for the first 100 customers while the first three customers would be able to have a 1 year supply of doughnuts for free.
The Filipina was already in the 75th of the line together with her boyfriend when one of the security guards told her to leave because she was a citizen of New Zealand.
The lady admitted that she was not qualified for the promo but she only wanted to go with her boyfriend but the guard might not hear her explanation and urged her to leave the establishment.
The Facebook page “Philippine Embassy in New Zealand” has reacted on the alleged at of discrimination stating “So sad …I USED to love Krispy Kreme … now they should add one more “K” to their name to reflect their thinking – KKK !!! (As in Klan … not Katipunan)“
Mr. Andrew McGuinan, Krispy Kreme CEO Australia-NZ also released a media statement regarding the incident.
The social media users also expressed their reaction regarding the alleged ‘racist’ attitude of Krispy Kreme towards a Pinay customer:
