Pinoy Singer Ice Seguerra Reveals Truth Behind Controversial Name Change
The Filipino singer Ice Seguerra has finally revealed the truth behind his controversial change of name after coming out as trans man.
Ice Seguerra or formerly known as Aiza Seguerra is a Filipino singer, actor, guitarist who started his career as a child star who has been featured in numerous movie projects, television shows, and commercials.
The celebrity also received numerous awards and recognition from various award-giving bodies for his impressive acting and singing skills.
Last year, Aiza has decided to change his name to Ice Seguerra after he proudly came out as a trans man in fully embracing his new sexuality.
The 34-year-old singer revealed that at first, he was hesitating to come out as transman but his wife Liza Diño encouraged him to be proud of himself.
The celebrity also explained he find it awkward if people will continue to call him “Aiza” for his new sexuality, so he decided to change his name to Ice.
The singer also explained that he remains the same although there are already changes in his body and explained why he wanted to change his name to “Ice”.
“So why Ice? First of all, di naman talaga malayo kasi Aiza. And since I was in high school, nickname ko na ‘yung Ice. So my closest friends, they call me Ice. They don’t call me Aiza. Kasi Aiza for me, napaka parang it’s very di na siya personal kasi showbiz ‘yungAiza. Parang ganun. Although nickname ko siya talaga pero since ‘yung ginagamit ko siya for work parang ‘di siya personal masyado. That’s why ever since ‘yun ‘yung tawag sakin ng barkada ko – Ice. So nilabas ko lang sa iba,” Seguerra said quoted by ABS-CBN.
