Filipino Senator Manny Pacquiao Pledged To Help The Family Of Slain OFW Joanna Demafelis

Senator Manny Pacquiao has vowed to help the family of the slain Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) Joanna Demafelis as he feels their pain.

The late OFW named Joanna Damefelis has been the headlines of several local and international news outlets and social media pages after her dead body was found in the freezer of an abandoned apartment in Kuwait.

The Pinay domestic helper has been allegedly murdered by her foreign employers before placing her body in the freezer. The authorities are still searching for the suspects responsible for her death.

Recently, the Filipino boxing icon and now Senator Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao has discussed the case of Joanna Demafelis, the Pinay maid slain by her employer in Kuwait.

Pacquaio has pledged to help the family of Demafelis as he also feels their pain for experiencing extreme poverty when he was young.

“Mr. Secretary, ‘yung problema ng magulang niya na nasangla ‘yung lupa, pakisabi po ako na mag-[babayad] doon sa sangla ng lupa niya, Galing kasi ako sa hirap, Mr. Secretary, at ‘yung paghihirap ng mga mahihirap na tao, nararamdaman ko ‘yun,” Pacquiao said quoted by GMA.

Pacman expressed his sympathy to the family for what the OFW suffered in Kuwait. He also urged the authorities to do their best to serve justice for the OFW’s slain by their abusive employers.
