FDA Allegedly Padlocked Belo Medical Clinic In Muntinlupa

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) allegedly padlocked the Belo Medical Clinic in Muntinlupa after accused of selling prohibited products.

The Belo Medical Group (BMG) owned by the popular Filipino celebrity doctor Vicki Belo has been the headlines of several local news outlets and social media pages after accused by FDA of selling prohibited substances.

FDA accused the Muntinlupa Branch of the Belo Medical of selling products, which did not pass through the registration process of the agency.

A notice from the agency stating the order to close BMG’s ‘Botika’ located on West Gate Alabang Muntinlupa City has been allegedly posted in front of the clinic.

BMG allegedly violated the section 11(c) of Republic Act No. 3720 or the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act.

However, BMG’s spokesperson clarified that the ‘Botika’ was not closed and did not padlock the Alabang branch s fully cooperating with FDA and allowed the inspection.

“Furthermore, the FDA upon inspection found no presence of the products in question and therefore DID NOT PADLOCK the clinic as opposed to what was recently inaccurately reported,” John Eric Ho, BMG’s corporate communications head said.
