BRILLANTE MENDOZA – The award-winning filmmaker Director Brillante Mendoza reveals something on his objective for directing a movie.
Brillante Mendoza, being one of the experts in the field of film-making, has been renowned internationally because of his works.
He is a director of independent films and has already done 16 films since 2005.
He won the award for Best Director for his film Kinatay at the 62nd Cannes Film Festival, his 2009 film Lola won the award for Best Film at the 6th Dubai International Film Festival, and the 2012 film Captive was shown in competition at the 62nd Berlin International Film Festival in February 2012.
Moreover, the 2012 film Thy Womb competed for the Golden Lion at the 69th Venice International Film Festival and the film Taklub has been selected to be screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival.
Mendoza also directed the first State of the Nation Address of President Rodrigo Duterte and once again attached to direct Duterte’s second State of the Nation Address on 24 July 2017.
And as an award-winning director, he shared something about an objective he might not be good at.
In one of his Instagram posts, he wrote, “Each filmmaker, they have their own objective, their own way of presenting the story. Some of them succeed at entertaining people, that’s their cup of tea. But for me, even if I wanted to, I would not be good at it.”

They have stated that the might not be good at entertaining people but he is best at showing the people the reality of life and each film he makes reflects what is happening in the society.
His films were deep but the netizens have appreciated his objective to deliver the Filipinos a quality film fit to be in the international competition.
