11-Year-Old Student Who Received Dengvaxia Died Of Severe Dengue
An 11-year-old student named AJ Bautista who received Dengvaxia, the controversial dengue vaccine died of severe dengue.
AJ Bautista, an 11-year-old student died of severe dengue five months after receiving the anti-dengue shot “Dengvaxia”.
On January 19, 2018, Bautista suffered from an intense headache and throat pain but eventually died on Wednesday (January 24, 2018), according to the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO).
Bautista’s sister was also suffering the same symptoms and currently confined at the hospital after receiving the dengue vaccine last August 2017.
Almer, the father of two dengue vaccine recipient blames Dengvaxia despite the announcement of Sanofi Pasteur, the Department of Health (DOH), and World Health Organization (WHO) that the vaccine does not cause severe dengue.
Forensic consultant Dr. Erwin Efre insisted that the children who received Dengvaxia suffered from internal bleeding with enlarged internal organs, which are both signs of severe dengue.
“Hindi ko alam kung ilan ang kailangan nilang mamatay muna, at ilan ang ma-confirm dun sa nakita naming pattern, bago nila i-acknowledge na namamatay ang bata because of this Dengvaxia vaccination,” Efre said quoted by GMA.
Bautista was the 11th patient autopsied by PAO on their investigation regarding the Dengvaxia issue. They were also planning to file charges next month in relation to the dengue vaccination program.
