Clark Airport Fires Alleged Corrupt Employees Involved In OFW’s Luggage Theft Incident

Clark Airport has ordered the termination of the alleged corrupt employees due to their involvement in OFW’s luggage theft incident.

Previously, an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) named Jovenil dela Cruz has expressed his disappointment and frustrations with the personnel of Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) who allegedly ransacked his luggage.

Dela Cruz said in the viral video that some of his valuables inside the luggage were gone after the airport has contacted him to claim his belongings.

The OFW’s video spread like a wildfire online less than 28 hours after it was posted in the social media.

Recently, the Facebook page “Build Build Build” has reported that the Clark International Airport has fired six airport employees under the private aviation services provider MIASCOR for allegedly involved in the luggage theft incident.

CIAC immediately conduct an investigation regarding the incident and identified the suspects in less than 24 hours.

The management of CIAC has ordered the suspension of the six employees, wherein their IDs and access pass were revoked.

MIASCOR, the ground handler under the airlines also paid an amount of P82, 824 to Dela Cruz as compensation for the lost items in the luggage.

Meanwhile, Clark International Airport Corporation President Alexander Cauguiran said that they will ensure the safety of their passengers and their luggage to prevent any incidents like this.
