BANGON MARAWI: Piolo Pascual and Direk Joyce Bernal are set to make a movie about Marawi.

BANGON MARAWI – Famous television personalities Piolo Pascual and Direk Joyce Bernal are set to make a movie about tragic stories during the battle in Marawi.

The action star Robin Padilla is known for being one of the celebrities who exerts his maximum efforts to help in the rehabilitation of Marawi.

Other celebrities who have also donated money for the Marawi’s progress are Sharon Cuneta, Vice Ganda, Jugs Jugueta, Teddy Corpuz, Direk Joyce Bernal, and Piolo Pascual.

“Continuous yun eh. Hindi naman natapos yun sa isang donation lang. Kumbaga, what we wanted to do is to give them something sustainable and to really support them sa livelihood nila,” Piolo Pascual said.

“And hopefully, when I get the chance, makabisita rin ako para makita natin yung mga development tsaka yung mga ibi-built natin na mga bahay.”

In line with this, Pascual and Bernal have plans on respectively producing and directing a movie about the stories during the battle in Marawi.

“Bale for audition talaga yung Marawi project namin. Pero hihikayatin namin yung ibang mga artista na mag-audition,” says the female and award-winning director.

The auditions for the Marawi is set to start this January and they are encouraging other actors and actresses to audition for significant roles for the movie.

The bloody clash in Marawi was a five-month-long armed conflict in Marawi, Lanao del Sur, that started on 23 May 2017, between Philippine government security forces and militants affiliated with the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), including the Maute and Abu Sayyaf Salafi jihadist groups.

In the modern history of the country, this is the longest urban battle recorded.
