Malacañang Palace declared January 4, 5, 10 & 16, 2018 as Special Holiday in selected areas due to the celebration of various events.
Through Proclamation Nos. 379, 387, 385 and 390, the special non-working holiday has been declared on the aforementioned dates for the commemoration of various events in the municipality of Naujan in Oriental Mindoro, municipality of Bauang in La Union, Koronadal City, and Batangas City respectively.
Proclamation No. 379 – Special non-working holiday in Naujan, Oriental Mindoro on Thursday, January 4, 2018, as the municipality celebrates its 113th Founding Anniversary.
Proclamation No. 387 – Special non-working holiday in Bauang, Province of La Union on Friday, January 5, 2018, as the municipality celebrates the “Baggak Festival Bauang Founding Anniversary”.
Proclamation No. 385– Special non-working holiday in the Koronadal City on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, as the city celebrates its 78th Founding Anniversary and 18th Hinugyaw Festival.
Proclamation No. 390 – Special non-working holiday in Batangas City on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, as it celebrates its Annual Fiesta.

Based on the Administrative Code of 1987, Book III, Chapter 2, Section 4, Proclamations are “acts of the President fixing a date or declaring a status or condition of public moment or interest, upon the existence of which the operation of a specific law or regulation is made to depend, shall be promulgated in proclamations which shall have the force of an executive order.”
