Metro Manila Film Festival surpasses their 2015 gross sales.
GROSS SALES – The Metro Manila Film Festival proudly announces that this year’s gross sales on its first and second day have surpassed their record in 2015.
Metro Manila Film Festival 2017 Execom chair Tim Orbos said, “The big achievement is bringing back our kababayans to the theaters.”
The Executive Committee has not announced the actual figured but they proudly shared that the gross sales of this year has exceeded the sales on the first two days on 2015.
Orbos even added, “The big achievement is bringing back our kababayans to the theaters. It took quite some time before we saw this kind of enthusiasm once again from the Filipino viewers.”
As per their post on their official Facebook page, they indicated they now have the audience and the revenues back on track.
“Now that we have the audience and the revenues back on track, we are committed to continue making quality productions that would satisfy and enrich our general film audiences,” as per the post.
Furthermore, this year’s foot traffic and box office sales have tripled compared to that of the previous year 2016.
Previously, they have said that they have announced and released any actual figures and rankings prior, in order, and so as not to create a bandwagon effect among the viewers and movie-goers.
They are encouraging the people to watch and support all 8 entries because “because we are as strong as our weakest film” based on the previous report.
Reportedly, Vice Ganda’s The Revenger Squad and Coco Martin’s Ang Panday were among the movies doing well based on the long lines in cinemas.
