Mr. Duterte Reappoints Former Customs Chief Nicanor Faeldon To The Office Of Civil Defense
President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has reappointed former Customs chief Nicanor Faeldon to the Office of Civil Defense.
Previously, Nicanor Faeldon has been tagged in the P6.4 billion shipment of illegal substance that slipped past the Bureau of Customs (BOC).
The allegations have prompted Faeldon to submit his resignation letter leaving his position under the Duterte administration as a commission of BOC.
However, Mr. Duterte accepted the resignation of Faeldon with sadness saying “From the tone of his resignation, he’s very disappointed but I really believe he is an honest man. The president also hinted that the “government would need Faeldon.”
The National Prosecution Service has eventually dismissed the complaints filed by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) against Faeldon after the complainants failed to show enough evidence against the accused.
Recently, President Duterte has reappointed Faeldon as the deputy administrator of the Office of Civil Defense. The appointment of Faeldon was dated December 22, 2017.
