Sea Turtle Found Dead in Gatilan, Cebu
A dead sea turtle with rope on its neck was found by the residents in the coastal areas of Barangay San Roque, in Ginatilan, Cebu.
On Monday morning (December 11, 2017), a sea turtle aging about 60-year-old was found dead by the residents living near the seashore of Ginatilan in Cebu.
The turtle was suspected died either of its old age or suffered from a disease, according to John Rosen Ferraren, an officer of Municipal Environment and Natural Resources.

Ferraren said that the sea turtle weighing about 100 kilograms and with a length of over 100 centimeters might have been already dead for the past few days.
The authorities are looking into different angle such as that the marine creature was killed by a poacher.

The sea turtle was found dead with a rope around its neck, missing front right and rare flippers, and rotten internal organs, according to the fisher folks who retrieved the sea mammal.

The marine creature was buried in a lot rented by the Municipal Government in San Roque.

Ferraren also said that the municipal personnel were conducting a regular inspection on the market and always reminding the fishermen not to catch endangered species.
