Does Malacañang Taps ‘Second-in-command’ Replacing Bato Dela Rosa On PNP?
Does Malacañang Palace has tapped a second-in-command replacing police chief Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa on PNP?
On Wednesday (December 06, 2017), the Philippine National Police (PNP) has yet to assign a second-in-command of PNP Chief Dela Rosa, contradicting the previous reports.
The Philippine Star previously reported that Deputy Director General Ramon Apolinario would replace Bato dela Rosa when he turns 56 in January 2018 as the mandatory age.
According to the report, the statement was made by Superintendent Ercy Nanette Tomas, legal officer of the PNP Center for Police Strategic Management during a summit of the police advisory council in Cebu.
However, PNP spokesperson Chief Superintendent Dionardo Carlos said that there is still no official statement yet regarding the matter.
“We have the President and the presidential spokesperson to give that information,” said by Carlos quoted by ABS-CBN.
Apolinario is one of the three persons considered by President Duterte to be the first chief of PNP under his leadership, which was won by Dela Rosa as the most senior among the candidates.
