John Cyril Claur from Bacolod tops the Chemical Engineering Licensure Exam.
BACOLOD CITY – The 21-year-old Bacolod-native John Cyril Claur topped the November 2017 Chemical Engineering Licensure Examination.
According to a result, John Cyril Claur topped the November 2017 Licensure examination for chemical engineers.
It was the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) which released the results on November 22, 2017.
627 out of 942 takers passed the November 2017 Chemical Engineer Board Exam.
It was a three-day examination which covered the following: Day 1 – Physical and Chemical Principles (General Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Biochemical Engineering and Environmental Engineering) 30%; Day 2 – Chemical Engineering Principles (Chemical Engineering Calculations, Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics, Reaction Kinetics, Unit Operations, Chemical Process Industries, Plant Design and Instrumentation and Process Control) 40% and; Day 3 – General Engineering, Ethics and Contracts (Mathematics, Physics, Engineering Mechanics, Strength of Materials, Engineering Economics, and Laws, Contracts and Ethics) 30%
As per the report from Manila Bulletin, it was his dream to provide a comfortable life for his family which drives him to strive hard and be on the top.
He is a graduate of the University of Saint La Salle in Bacolod City who tied the place with Jared Philip Marquez Condez of the University of the Philippines-Visayas with a rating of 84.60 percent.
As he recalled the hard work and the sacrifices of his parents, he stated, “Ever since, I really wanted to become successful not just because I want it but through it, I could provide my family a better life that they deserve.”
John Cyril is 21 years old and is the youngest of four children of Helen, 62, a housewife and Rafael Claur, 66, a retired government employee.
With everything, he is humbly grateful for all their support and encouragement for him.
As a student, he was both an academic and Department of Science and Technology scholar in college and graduated Cum Laude this year.
For almost 6 months, he reviewed in Manila.
“As long as you have the faith and the passion to be an engineer, no one will ever stop you from reaching that goal,” he added.
