Mar Roxas, Jun Abaya Faces Plunder Charges Filed By DOTr At Ombudsman
DOTr has filed charges of plunder again former DOTC Sec. Jun Abaya and former DILG Sec. Mar Roxas at Office of the Ombudsman.
On Tuesday (November 21, 2017), the Department of Transportation (DOTr) filed plunder complaints against former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas and Transportation Secretary Jun Abaya over the alleged MRT-3 anomalous maintenance contract.
The complaint was filed by DOTr undersecretary for legal affairs and procurement, Reinier Yebra before the Office of the Ombudsman because of the conflicts hounding the Metro Rail Transit 3 (MRT-3), which triggered the anomalous deal.
Aside from Roxas and Abaya, other former Cabinets of the Aquino administration was also facing plunder charges due to the MRT-3 mess.
The transportation department has also filed charges against former Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin, former Public Works Secretary Rogelio Singson, former National Economic Development Authority chief Arsenio Balisacan, former Budget Secretary Butch Abad, former Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima, and former Energy Secretary Jericho Petilla.
Officials of Busan Universal Rail, Inc. (BURI), former Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) officials, Marlo Dela Cruz, former MRT General Manager Roman Buenafe; former Transportation undersecretaries Rene Limcaoco, Catherine Gonzales, and Edwin Lopez were also included on DOTr’s complaint sheet.
