South Africa’s official contestant in Miss Universe 2017 is no other than 22-year-old beauty queen Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters.
The Slow Town, Sedgefield in the Western Cape-born pageant hopeful is a B.Com Business Management and Entrepreneurship graduate.
Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters is not new in the limelight. She made a record while she’s in high school after holding two positions of leadership. During her Grade 11, she was elected as deputy junior mayor of the George City Council.
According to the official website of Miss South Africa, her biggest motivation in joining the Miss Universe pageant is her disabled half-sister who was born without a cerebellum.
Demi-Leigh also works as a part-time model for Boss Models and Vision Management.
Demi-Leigh loved spending her time in outdoor activities such as taking her two Yorkies (Benji and Baxter) for walks in the park.
She’s also a creative gal. She loves to craft handmade cards for her family and friends and she’s fond of reading books.
