PAGASA Release Latest Weather Updates About LPA That Turns To Tropical Storm
The weather bureau PAGASA has released the latest updates regarding the low-pressure area (LPA), which intensified into a tropical storm named ‘Salome’.
On Thursday (November 09, 2017), the low-pressure area being monitored by The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has intensified into a tropical storm and could affect Luzon and Visayas.
The Tropical Depression Salome was last spotted in the vicinity of Mondragon, Northern Samar moving 25 kilometers per hour (kph) west-northwest, according to the 9 am weather bulletin of Pagasa.
Salome has maximum sustained winds of 45 kph and could gusts up to 80 kph prompting the weather agency to raised signal no. 1 in different parts of Luzon and Visayas.

- Camarines Sur
- Albay
- Sorsogon
- Masbate, Ticao and Burias Islands
- Romblon
- Marinduque
- Southern Quezon
- Laguna
- Cavite
- Batangas
- Oriental Mindoro
- Occidental Mindoro
- Northern Samar
- Eastern Samar
- Samar
- Leyte, Biliran
These areas were expected to experience from moderate to heavy rain, which could cause flash floods and possible landslides.
The weather agency’s recent forecast shows that Salome will cross the Sibuyan Sea between Luzon and the Visayas on Thursday, announcing that sea travel was too risky.
On Saturday (November 11, 2017), Tropical Storm Salome was expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
