Philippines Marks 4 Years Since Super Typhoon Yolanda’s Devastation In 2013
The Philippines has marked four years since Super Typhoon Yolanda’s devastation, which took thousands of lives and destroyed properties.
Super Typhoon Haiyan or locally known as Bagyong Yolanda was considered as one of the deadliest typhoons recorded in the Philippine history, which took thousands of lives and destroyed numerous properties.
Yolanda entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on November 06, 2013 and devastated some areas in the Visayas on November 07, 2013, which was exactly marked its fourth year on Tuesday (November 07, 2017).
However, until this present time, the devastation of the super typhoon was still fresh from the mind of its victims.
A Twitter user named Nestor Corrales has posted on his social media account commemorating the devastating typhoon. He also described Yolanda as a story of faith and hope, which characterizes the affected Filipinos.
Corrales also said in his post that the Duterte administration has pursued the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the communities affected by the super typhoon.
The social media user also said that the shelter assistance in Tacloban is the most successful model of Yolanda Permanent Housing Program. About 10, 703 resettlement houses were already occupied almost near to reach its target of 14, 433 houses.
