LTFRB Expands Student Fare Discount Until Weekends, Summer Breaks, Holidays

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has expanded the student fare discount until weekends, summer breaks, and holidays.

The discount on the fare of the students was now extended until weekends that would be a big help for commuting students. All students up to undergraduates are covered by the discounted fare.

However, postgraduate students such as students pursuing law, medicine, masters or doctorate degree are still required to pay the full amount of fare.

The declaration of student fare expansion came after LTFRB released a Memorandum Circular last October 11, 2017. Here is the statement wrote in the Memorandum issued by LTFRB:

“Students can avail of the twenty percent (20%) discount from Monday to Sunday including summer breaks, legal and special holidays.”

The expanded discount on student’s fare will be effective starting October 28, 2017.
