Deniece Cornejo, 2 Others’ Bail Grant Affirmed By Court Of Appeals

The Court of Appeals Has Affirmed the Bail Grant To Deniece Cornejo, Cedric Lee, and Zimmer Raz.

DENIECE CORNEJO – The Court of Appeals has sided with the decision of the Taguig City Regional Trial Court (RTC) to grant bail to model Deniece Cornejo, businessman Cedric Lee, and Zimmer Raz.

Cornejo, Lee, and Raz are facing illegal detention charges. It was the camp of It’s Showtime host Vhong Navarro who filed illegal detention case against the three after an incident in 2014.

Based on a report in Philippines’ Ultimate Showbiz Hub (PUSH), in 2014, Vhong Navarro claimed that he was hurt by Lee and Raz inside the condominium of the model.

In September 2014, the three were released after the Taguig City RTC decided to grant them to post bail.

According to the report, Deniece Cornejo, Cedric Lee, and Zimmer Raz were allowed to post a bail of half a million pesos. Vhong Navarro and the Department of Justice (DOJ) appealed to the Court of Appeals about the decision of the Taguig City RTC.

Recently, the decision of the CA was revealed and it sided with the move of the Taguig City RTC to allow Cornejo, Lee, and Raz to be granted bail.

Based on the report. the appeal of the DOJ and the It’s Showtime host was junked by the high court after they were not able to provide sufficient evidence that the judge who decided to allow the three to post bails committed grave abuse of discretion.

Reportedly, the Taguig City RTC judge who allowed Cornejo, Lee, and Raz to post bails was judge Esperanza Paz Cortes.

Based on the report, the rape cases filed by model Deniece Cornejo against Vhong Navarro were junked by the court.

The It’s Showtime host was grateful over the move of the court to junk the cases filed against him according to a previous report.
