It’s Showtime host Vhong Navarro is thankful after the Department of Justice (DOJ) junk the case filed against him by Deniece Cornejo.
On Friday, September 22, DOJ dismissed the third case filed by Deniece to Vhong has been junked due to the lack of evidence as stated in the 24-page review resolution.
“As complainant evidence stands, the same does not establish probable cause to indict respondent for the crimes he is accused of committing,” OIC Prosecutor General Severino Gaña said.
Meanwhile, in a message sent by Chito S. Roño to ABS-CBN News‘ Mario Dumaual, he said that Vhong Navarro is “grateful” and “overwhelmed” by the court’s decision.
“Vhong Navarro is grateful and overwhelmed by [the] DOJ decision dismissing rape charges against him,” Roño said.
It was in 2014 when Deniece Cornejo filed two separate raps against Vhong Navarro, claiming she was molested by the latter on January 17 and January 22, the night of the mauling incident which left the dancer seriously injured.
Vhong Navarro is yet to issue any statement regarding the dismissal of the case filed against him by Deniece Cornejo.
