Latest Updates Regarding Typhoon Odette Released By PAGASA
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has released the latest updates about Typhoon Odette.
On Saturday (October 14, 2017), the state weather bureau Pagasa announced that the tropical storm “Odette” was expected to leave the country anytime soon as it remains stationary over the West Philippine Sea.
PAGASA said that the tropical cyclone has not gone far from the landmass as it was spotted at 315 kilometers West of Sinait, Ilocos Sur with maximum sustained winds of up to 90 kilometers per hour.
The weather agency also described the storm as almost stationary as it moves 7 kilometers per hour in a Northwest direction.
However, the areas of Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, and Western Visayas were also expected to experience moderate to heavy rains, which might cause landslides and flash floods.
The province of Pangasinan was still under signal number 1, while the rest of Luzon and Visayas will experience thunderstorms and moderate rains.
Meanwhile, an elderly died in Apayao after swept away by a strong current in the river, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC).
