After for more than a year of fulfilling her beauty queen duties and passing the crown to Miss Universe Iris Mittenaere on 30 January 2017 at the Mall of Asia Arena, Pia Wurtzbach is finally back in the limelight of the entertainment industry.
Prior to the confirmation of her return to be a certified Kapamilya, she first appeared at It’s Showtime and did a production number at ASAP as she danced to the tune of Ed Sheeran’s hit Shape of You.
Recalling, she started her career in the show business at the age as young as 14 years old also in the Kapamilya network under the screen name then of Pia Romero.
Before entering the pageantry and become the queen, she appeared to several programs and even attended the prestigious Star Magic Ball for several times.
According to a report from the ABS-CBN News, Pia could not even believe that she is finally back as a Kapamilya.
She exclaimed, “I can’t believe it, it’s actually happening already. This was a few months in the making… a few months of meetings and talks, and trying to figure out what I’m going to do with ABS-CBN. And finally, na-seal na lahat dahil nag-contract signing na kami.”
And just for a surprise effect, the beauty did not reveal her future projects but shared that there are already “a few movies in there and a few TV shows” lined up.
According to the source, Pia then also shared, “I started with a five-year contract [in ABS-CBN] and I kept renewing lang every year, and then I stopped. Iyon ‘yung nag-culinary muna ako and then I joined Binibining Pilipinas. When you join kasi Bb. Pilipinas, you’re not allowed to have any contracts, so I couldn’t come back to ABS-CBN. But now na tapos na ako sa pageant world, puwede na ulit.”
“I’m just happy to be back here,” she added.
