M/V Maria Matilde hit an island in Romblon leaving more than 30 people hurt.
ROMBLON – The M/V Maria Matilde of Montenegro Shipping Lines Inc. hit an island leaving more than 30 people hurt.
According to a report from the Romblon News Network, the ferry is from Odiongan Port and is headed to the said province’s port to drop passengers from Batangas.
The ferry is the M/V Maria Matilde of Montenegro Shipping Lines Inc. and the accident happened a little past 5 of Tuesday morning, September 26.
There were reported to have 33 persons who got hurt.
Based on Cajidiocan SB Member Marvin Ramos, a passenger, he was awakened by a loud explosion when the ship hit the land and later on found out that the ship he was aboard hit the island of Tablas.
The collision caused a damage to the ship’s hull and caused injuries to at least 30 passengers and other 3 passengers suffered major injuries.
