According to a previous report, Winwyn Marquez, daughter of veteran artists Joey Marquez and Alma Moreno, is the very first Pinay to compete at such prestigious international pageant.

The Reina Hispanoamericana will be held at Bolivia later of this year. Upon joining, she vowed to do her best.

And as preparation for the said beauty pageant, a lot of things are still ahead of them that they are yet to do.

One of which is the dresses she will wear. Considering that it is an international beauty pageant, dresses should be impressive as she will be competing with other contestants coming from different countries.

Based on a report from the Philippines’ Ultimate Showbiz Hub (Push), the designer who will make her national costume is Edwin Uy.

Edwin Uy is well-known in making national costumes of whom at such are Parul Shah (Miss Grand International 2015, Best National Costume), Angelee Delos Reyes (2nd placer, Miss Earth), Chanel Olive Thomas (BB. Pilipinas 2017 Best in National Costume), and among others.

Accordingly, he said with regards to the national costume he’ll be making for the beauty queen, ” I hope some people like bashers give me the respect as a designer in making her design as I believe I have proven myself already by winning several national costume awards both in the local and international pageants. Something with Spanish influence but design has to be unique in their eyes so we can catch their attention.”

Furthermore, he added that he will try his best to make a design that would win and will stand out among others.

“I respect the terno and maria clara design but time in memorial (sic) has proven that no matter how lovely our ternos and Maria Clara dress have been, we never won a best national costume award using these costumes. I believe that the design needs to unique at the right place and time,” the designer indicated.
