Marikina River to possibly cause flood.
MARIKINA RIVER – Due to heavy rainfall brought by the Bagong Maring, Mayor Marcelino Teodoro gives warning as heightened water of the Marikina River can possibly cause flood.
As per the interview of the DZMM with Mayor Marcelino Teodoro, the heavy rainfall brought by the Bagyong Maring can heighten the water along the Marikina River which could possibly cause flood.
According to a report from the ABS-CBN News, the city’s patriarch said, “Kapag tumaas pa ito at magpatuloy, may ilang lugar na tayo rito sa Marikina na aabutin ng tubig-baha.”
The mayor further added, “Malakas ang agos ng tubig ngayon, mabilis.”
Based on the statement, the water had already reached 14.9 meters at 11 a.m. in the morning and when it reached the 15 meter level, it will be lifted to Alarm Level 1 or warning.
The residents were also warned that if the reached 16 meter or Alert level two, they have to leave the area and on Alert Level 3 if the water reached 17 meters, people will be sent to an evacuation center
