The Department of Education (DepEd) and the National Educators Academy of the Philippines (NEAP) are set to release the results or official list of passers of the 2016 Principals’ Test or formerly known as National Qualifying Examination for School Heads (NQESH) held on April 9, 2017.
The Principals’ Test 2016 was administered by NEAP, which is the professional development arm of DepEd, Bureau of Human Resource and Organization Development (BHROD) and Quality Assurance Division (RO-QAD) of each Regional Offices last April 9, 2017, at various testing centers in the country.

The 2016 Principal’s Test was supposed to be held on November 6, 2016, but due to due to major administrative constraints in the procurement of examination materials and other issues, it was administered on the 9th day of April 2017.
ABOUT PRINCIPALS’ TEST
The Principals’ Test serves as the mechanism for selecting competent school heads (SHs) specifically in the public basic education sector.
According to DepEd Order (DO) No. 39, s. 2007 entitled “Modified Qualification Standards for the Positions of Head Teachers and Principals” and DO 97, s. 2011 entitled “Revised Guidelines on the Allocation and Reclassification of School Heads Positions,” the Principals’ Test is open to all aspirants for a Principal I position.
Here are the requirements the applicants shall meet:
- One (1) year as Head Teacher; or
- Two (2) years as Teacher-in-Charge or Master Teacher; or
- Five (5) years as Teacher III or SPED Teacher; or
- Five (5) years as an incumbent public school teacher who has five years of managerial and supervisory experience in a DepEd recognized private institution or Commission on Higher Education (CHED) recognized higher education institution.
RELEASE DATE
The result is slated to be released through a DepEd Memorandum posted on the DepEd website and NEAP Facebook Page.
