PNP Chief: Espenido Now Officer-In-Charge Of Iloilo City Police

Espenido Now Officer-In-Charge Of Iloilo City Police, PNP Chief Dela Rosa Says

PNP Chief Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa said that Chief Inspector Jovie Espenido was now assigned as the officer-in-charge of the Iloilo City police.

On Wednesday (August 30, 2017), Dela Rosa said that Espenido was tasked to lead the police force in Iloilo City, which was dubbed as the most shabulized city here in the Philippines due to the suspected proliferation of illegal drugs.

Espenido was the head of the police authorities who lead the successful anti-narcotic operation on the residence of Parojinogs, who was tagged President Rodrigo Duterte as one of the narco-politicians in the country.

Dela Rosa also said that Espenido may be promoted sooner or later to match his rank to the position of being city police chief.

President Duterte assigned chief inspector Espenido in Iloilo to put an eye to Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog, who was allegedly involved in the illegal drug trade in the province.

Previously, the Iloilo City mayor denied all the accusations being thrown at him and requested a meeting with Mr. Duterte.

Chief Inspector Espenido also told Mabilog that he had nothing to fear if he was not involved in any illegal activities, as the Iloilo City Mayor admitted of fearing for the safety of his family.

Espenido was the chief of police in Albuera, Leyte when Mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr. was killed inside his cell when the police officers served a search warrant against him last November 2016.

He also led the operation in Ozamiz City last July 2017 that killed the city Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog Sr.
