New Tropical Depression Outside PAR Monitored By PAGASA

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) is now monitoring a new tropical depression outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) was observing a tropical storm the Philippines, which was spotted about 2, 590 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon.

PAGASA meteorologist Benison Estareja said that the storm was discovered around 3 pm on early Monday morning (August 28, 2017). He also said that the storm doesn’t have a direct effect because it could not enter the country.

However, Estareja said that the Philippine could be still affected by the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) or the clouds coming from the interaction of the wind from the north and from the south near the equator.

Due to ITCZ, Visayas, Bicol, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga peninsula and Caraga could experience a cloudy day and moderate rain. However, these areas could still experience heavy rain.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and other parts of the country could experience good weather conditions with a little bit thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening.

Estareja also said that they were also observing some cloud cluster near the country that could possibly turn into a low-pressure area.

The meteorologist was also expecting around 2 to 4 tropical storms to enter the country this coming September 2017.
