The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced on Friday, August 25, 2017, that Tropical Storm Jolina has maintained its strength as it moves closer to Aurora province.
In an advisory issued at exactly 2 p.m. (August 25), Jolina was spotted at 145 kilometers southeast of Casiguran, Aurora. The tropical storm is moving west-northwest at 19 kilometers per hour (km/h) with maximum winds of 80 km/h and gustiness of up to 95 km/h.
Tropical cyclone warning signal (TCWS) number 2 has been declared in Isabela, Northern Aurora, Quirino, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Ilocos Sur, Benguet, Abra, La Union, and Nueva Vizcaya.
While TCWS number 1 was raised in Cagayan including Babuyan group of islands, Apayao, rest of Aurora, Ilocos Norte, Nueva Ecija, Pangasinan, Northern Quezon including PoIilio Island, Catanduanes, Camarines Norte and Camarines Sur.
