CNN Philippines anchor Amelyn Veloso died on Thursday, August 24 at the age of 43 due to liver cancer.
She was diagnosed with breast cancer years ago before cancer cells spread to her liver.
Amelyn Veloso, 43, was born on April 25, 1974.
She came to prominence in 1999 when she became an anchor of The Big News in ABC-5.
She later became a correspondent of numerous ABC-5 shows which later renamed as TV5 including Sentro, Sapul sa Singko, Aksyon, and Balitaang Tapat.
It was in 2013 when she left Channel 5 and transferred to Solar News (formerly RPN9), now popularly known as CNN Philippines.
Among the last programs of Amelyn Veloso under CNN Philippines are the following; Serbisyo All Access and CNN Philippines Newsroom: Morning Edition.
The Cebuana correspondent took Broadcast Communication at the University of the Philippines-Diliman and a Master’s Degree in National Security Administration from the National Defense College of the Philippines.
In 2006, she was awarded a marksmanship badge by the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
Meanwhile, according to PEP.ph, netizens, fellow workers, and renowned personalities went to their respective social media accounts to mourn the death of the latter.
She has been considered by the broadcasting industry as one of the kindest news personalities in the country.
