PNP Chief Dela Rosa: Armed Group In  Lanao Plans To Retaliate Against the Police Authorities of Ozamiz City

An armed group from Kolambugan, Lanao del Norte was allegedly heading to Ozamiz City for retaliation, according to PNP Chief Dela Rosa.

On Monday (August 07, 2017), the Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa said in a press-con that the police agency received reports that a group of armed men from Lanao was riding a boat heading to Ozamiz.

Dela Rosa was suspecting that the armed men are members of the Kuratong Baleleng and allegedly heading to Ozamiz City for retaliation on the police authorities who raided the residence of Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog Jr.

The PNP chief said that Octavio “Ongkoy” Parojinog Sr. was the founder of the notorious group Kuratong Baleleng. Ongkoy was the father of the late mayor Reynaldo Parojinog Sr. who was murdered together with his wife and 14 other during the raid.

The Kuratong Baleleng group was allegedly evolved into a criminal syndicate who were responsible for crimes such as robbery, extortion, and kidnapping, according to Senator Panfilo Lacson.

“Chief Inspector Jovie Espenido, the Ozamiz City police chief was told by the PNP chief to implement precautionary measures to prevent the retaliation planned by the group to the police authorities in Ozamiz.

“Sabi ko sige maglakad ka dyan. Huwag kang magdala ng armas para maipakita talaga iyong tapang nitong mga taong ito. Bring it on,” said by Dela Rosa quoted by GMA.

Dela Rosa also challenged Parojinog clan members to files criminal cases against Espenido and other policemen involved in the raid, which took numerous lives. He also claimed that the policemen executed the raids.

The members of the Parojinog Family was also able to recover the CCTV footage of the raid conducted at the house of Vice Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog-Echavez. The also said that the CCTV will prove that the evidence found in the house of Vice Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog-Echavez was evidence allegedly planted by the authorities.
