Slapshock Pays Tribute To Chester Bennington
The Filipino heavy metal band Slapshock covers Linkin Park’s “One Step Closer” as a tribute to the death of Chester Bennington.
Slaphock is one of the most popular Filipino heavy metal band in the Philippines, but eventually shifted towards metalcore style. The band was composed of five members including Jamir Garcia (Vocals), Lee Nadela (Bass), Lean Ansing (Guitar), Jerry Basco (Guitar), and Chi Evora (Drums).
The band was formed in 1997 originally as rap metal band and started to earn popularity after releasing some of their songs. The band has already released six albums and successfully sustained their musical career not only in the Philippines but also in abroad.
On Sunday (July 23, 2017), the official Facebook page of “Slapshock” has uploaded their video of paying tribute to the legendary rockstar Chester Bennington. The band covers the Linkin Park’s hit song “One Step Closer.”
In the video, it can be seen that Jamir Garcia, the vocalist of Slapshock dedicated a song to for the late Linkin Park’s vocalist and encouraged the crowd to jump as a sign of respect for Chester.
Garcia soulfully and whole heartedly sings one of Bennington’s hit song and earned praises and adorations from the social media users.
