Jim Paredes reacted on a joke of Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

JIM PAREDES – Musician and one of the members of Apo Hiking Society, Jim Paredes, expressed his reaction towards the joke thrown by Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

Despite that many people already know the 72-year-old President as someone who is fond of cracking jokes even in the midst of serious speeches, Pres. Duterte’s statements never fail to draw mixed reactions from the Filipinos.

Recently, one famous personality in the field of music, Jim Paredes, expressed his reaction towards a joke of Pres. Duterte.

On his social media account, Jim cited the link of Aljazeera’s news stating that the ‘Miss Universe rape joke’ of the President sparked criticisms.

The musician asked Pres. Duterte to respect women. He stated that there is nothing funny or good about what he said.

“Respeto naman po, Sir. Walang nakakatawa o mabuti sa sinabi niyo. Tama ba na ganyan kayo magsalita tunkol sa kababaihan?”

Based on the report, the President, speaking in Davao, condemned the crime.

“What I don’t like are kids (being raped.) You can mess with, maybe Miss Universe,” the Chief Executive expressed.

Undeniably, this is not the first time that the joke of the 72-year-old President sparked criticisms from some people. Several of his previous jokes have also caught the attention of the public.
