The residents of Bacolod City have spotted the difference between the two pedestrian overpass constructed in the city, can you also spot the difference?
A pedestrian overpass or known as footbridge was designed for pedestrians, cyclists, and others. It was usually built to ensure the safety of the people crossing the dangerous roads where there are some reckless drivers.
The footbridge was also designed to prevent interruption on the flow of traffic along the road where it separates the pedestrians from the vehicular traffic. Constructing an overpass can be quite expensive, but it is all worthy to ensure the safety of both pedestrians and motorists.
The local government was one of the responsible to fund the construction of a pedestrian overpass for the public.
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is one of the government agency tasked to carry out the construction of all infrastructure facilities, public works, and highways. In some cases, the government was assigning private sectors to take charge for the construction of public infrastructures including pedestrian overpass.
Recently, a Facebook user named Lanzar Lontok has uploaded the photo of two different pedestrian overpass in Bacolod City. The residents in the city have noticed the difference between the foot bridges when it comes to budget and infrastructures.
The pedestrian overpass in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City is amounting P10.9 million, but contains no roof and has only stainless railings. While, the pedestrian overpass in Barangay Mandalagan, Bacolod City has concrete wall and it was fully covered for the convenience of the users, which only cost P6 million.
