First 4 Movies As Official Entries For 2017’s Metro Manila Film Festival Revealed

Here are the first four movies included in the official list of this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival.

The Metro Manila Film Festival have finally announced the first four movies that have been included on their official list for this year’s movie festival.

Metro Manila Film Festival is a festival for Filipino movies that is annually celebrated at Metro Manila starting off from Christmas’ Day down to the New Year’s Day until the very first week of January in the following year.

Based on previous report, there were at least fifteen Filipino movies that have made it on the list where the choosing committee will have to choose from.

And just recently, as per the official Facebook page of MMFF, they have finally announced the list of four official movies that is included on the prestigious festival.

Accordingly to the post, upon the recommendation of its Selection Committee, here are the first four movies of the official entries:

ANG PANDAY
Director: Rodel Nacianceno
Producer:CCM CREATIVE PRODUCTIONS,Inc.
Lead Actor: Coco Martin

ALMOST IS NOT ENOUGH
Director: Dan Villegas
Producers: QUANTUM & MJM PRODUCTIONS
Lead Actors: Jennylyn Mercado & Jericho Rosales

THE REVENGERS
Director: Joyce A. Bernal
Producers: STAR CINEMA & VIVA FILMS
Lead Actors: Vice Ganda, Daniel Padilla & Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach

LOVE TRAPS #Family Goals
Director: Antonio Y. Reyes
Producer: OCTO ARTS FILMS

MMFF Executive Committee Chairman Tim Orbos have stated, “Our selection committee had a difficult time choosing given the quality of films. We have to thank them for their exhaustive and thorough deliberations.”

He even added, “We also have to give credit to this year’s Rules Committee which devised the two-part selection process that gave a greater latitude to interested participants for this year.”

The movies were evaluated and was chosen based on the following criteria: 40% artistic excellence; 40% commercial appeal; 10% promotion of Filipino cultural and historical values & 10% global appeal.

The next four movies to complete the list will be announced on November 17.
