UCPB Employees Handling Large Amount Of Cash Now Acquitted From Rebellion Chages
UCPB employees who have been caught carrying P32.8 million worth of bank money were now acquitted from rebellion charges.
Previously, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) held suspicious ship passengers for carrying an amount of nearly P40 million. The ship passengers explained that they were bank employees and presented legal documents proving their innocence.
The employees were found out working for the United Coconut Planter’s Bank (UCPB). They were traveling in Trans Asia Ship heading to Cebu last Sunday evening (June 25, 2017) together with 3 security guards and escort.
The bank employees were identified as Rhodelle A. Nagac at Rolando C. Limbo Jr., teller, and operations manager at Velez Branch in Cagayan De Oro City; Ma. Cecilia Lim, UCPB Velez Branch Manager. The UCPB security guards were identified as Leonilo B. Enterina, Reynaldo Puyos and Rolly Cervantes Estribor.
UCPB insisted that the employees were only following the normal procedure of the bank. It also said that the employees were authorized to carry a large amount of cash.
The resolution released by Cagayan de Oro is stating that there’s no enough facts and evidence to file rebellion charges against the accused. “As culled from the facts and evidence on hand, this Office is predisposed to rule in favor of the respondents,” wrote in the fiscal’s resolution quoted by Definitely Filipino.
The UCPB employees were acquitted of the charges due to the insufficient basis on the case.
