Filipino Broadcaster Jessica Soho Dubbed As Philippines Answer To Oprah Winfrey
The Filipino broadcast journalist Jessica Soho has been dubbed as the Philippines answer to Oprah due to the stories featured on her documentary show ‘KMJS’
Jessica Soho, a 53-year-old Filipino broadcast journalist and the popular host of news magazine program entitled “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho” on GMA Network. She had already won numerous awards as a journalist.
In 1998, the journalist also became the first Filipino to win the British Fleet Journalism Award and won the Digest’s Most Trusted News Presenter from 2011 up to 2016.
Recently, KMJS episode about Joel de Carteret who’s looking for his mother was featured on the prestigious international news magazine television entitled “60 Minutes Australia”.
Liam Bartlett, the host of the international program has also interviewed the Filipino journalist about their determination in searching for the mother of Jojo. The program also described Soho as the Philippines answer to Oprah.
Soho is now being compared to Oprah Winfrey for featuring documentary and touching stories on her show.
On April 2017, the article from American daily newspaper “The New York Times” featured the scientific study regarding the giant shipworms in the Philippines. The species were only discovered by international scientists after they watched it on YouTube, which was linked to a segment of KMJS featuring giant shipworms of “Tamilok” in Sultan Kudarat.
The social media page Buzzfeed, which is based in New York also featured Jessica Soho’s face-to-face interview with Miss Universe 1994 Sushmita Sen and the Filipino women who are named after her.
The KMJS documentaries featured in the international media only proves that KMJS segments are competitive internationally.
