Broadway singer and actress Lea Salonga attended the 2017 Tony Awards.
LEA SALONGA – The broadway diva and actress Lea Salonga was able to attend one of the most prestigious awarding, the this years Tony Awards.
According to the news report made by the ABS-CBN News, the actress and The Voice coach graced the red carpet more relaxed than she ever did more than two decades ago.
More than 20 years ago was when she got nominated as the best actress for a musical she did.
Monday morning in Manila, together with her colleague Jon Jon Briones, took part in the Tony’s by bringing their presence in there to which they will introduce the Miss Saigon for it was a nominee for best revival.
The cast of the revival includes Eva Noblezada, an actress which was nominated as the best actress, which led the performance as they have performed the “This is the Hour” and “I’d Give My Life For You.”
As being mentioned on the report, Salonga was clad in a gunmetal grey tuxedo by Rajo Laurel, a Filipino designer and PJ Pascual did its style.

Salonga shared to the Spectrum News how thrilled she was to be a part of the Tony’s this year, she stated that before the show began in a red carpet.
She indicated, “I’m thrilled about that I get to introduce Miss Saigon’s number. Their presentation is fantastic. I’m looking forward to just watching Kevin Spacey kill it. I saw his dress rehearsals tonight and he was doing so amazingly well. I’m looking forward to all the best musical nominees making their presentations.”
She admitted how nervous she was hours before the show in 1991 that she even stated, “I think there’s nerves. You’re trying to appreciate every single moment that’s happening but at the same time, there’s lump in your throat because you know you’re up for awards. Those who are actually up for awards early in the evening are luckier because they get that out the away and just enjoy the rest of the night.”
Tony Awards or the Antoinette Perry Award for Excellence in Broadway Theatre recognizes the excellence in live Broadway theater.
