Ex-Binibining Pilipinas candidate Maria Sofia Gloria Mustonen has made national headlines after she was arrested along with a suspected drug pusher in a drug raid at Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.
Maria Sofia Gloria Mustonen, a former candidate of the Binibining Pilipinas 2013 pageant has been identified as one of the suspects nabbed by the operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency(PDEA).
She and a certain Joseph Bayquen Jr. were arrested during a drug raid at a condominium unit (McKinley Parkway Avenue) at BGC at around 9 p.m. by the virtue of the search warrant issued by the court.
While Mustonen denies selling illegal drugs, Bayquen was alleged of peddling drugs to call center agents.
Authorities were able to seize more than 200 grams of shabu, cocaine, several ecstasy pills, drug paraphernalia and two firearms during the raid.
PDEA Deputy Director General for Operation Ricardo Quinto said that the drugs have a street value of more than 200 million.
The 27-year-old ex-Bb. Pilipinas candidate hails from Helsinki, Finland. Standing at 5’6″ tall, she competed before in Miss Philippines Earth 2010.
During the 2013 Binibining Pilipinas pageant, she represented the city of Marikina.
Maria Sofia Gloria Mustonen has represented both the national teams of the Philippines and Finland in football.
She took Diplomatic and Consular Affairs at the De La Salle-College of St. Benilde.
