Ex-Binibining Pilipinas Candidate, Suspected Drug Pusher Arrested in Taguig

An ex-Binibining Pilipinas candidate and a suspected drug pusher were arrested in a drug raid at Bonifacio Global City in Taguig on Friday night, June 9, 2017.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency(PDEA) identified the suspects as Maria Sofia Gloria Mustonen, a former candidate of the Binibining Pilipinas 2013 pageant and a certain Joseph Bayquen Jr.

According to the report of GMA Network, they were nabbed during a drug raid conducted by the operatives of PDEA at a condominium unit (McKinley Parkway Avenue) at BGC at around 9 p.m. by the virtue of the search warrant issued by the court.

While Mustonen denies selling illegal drugs, Bayquen was alleged of peddling drugs to call center agents.

Authorities were able to seize more than 200 grams of shabu, cocaine, several ecstasy pills, drug paraphernalia and two firearms during the raid.

PDEA Deputy Director General for Operation Ricardo Quinto said that the drugs have a street value of more than 200 million.

The 27-year-old ex-Bb. Pilipinas candidate hails from Helsinki, Finland. Standing at 5’6″ tall, she competed before in Miss Philippines Earth 2010.

The former Binibining Pilipinas candidate has yet to issue any statement regarding this report.
