Another LPA Expected To Hit Parts Of Visayas, Mindanao, PAGASA Says

The weather bureau PAGASA announced that another Low-Pressure Area (LPA) is expected to hit the parts of Visayas and Mindanao.

The Philippines is one of the most vulnerable countries from the storms and typhoon due to its location near the equator. Approximately, around 20 tropical cyclones enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) per year.

About 10 out of 20 tropical cyclones turns into typhoons and 5 of them can cause devastation and destruct numerous properties and can even take thousands of lives.LPA

Around 9:00 am on Thursday morning (June 08, 2017), PAGASA weather advisory said that an LPA was found 315 kilometers east of Surigao City. The LPA was expected to bring rains and thunderstorms in the southern part of the country.

Zamboanga Peninsula. Caraga regions, Northern Mindanao, Southern Cebu, Southern Negros Oriental, Southern Negros Occidental, Lanao del Sur, provinces of Southern Leyte, Bohol, and Siquijor were expected to experience moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms.

PAGASA has also warned the residents in the affected areas of possible landslides, and flash floods. Meanwhile, some parts of Visayas and Mindanao are expected to experience light to moderate rains and thunderstorms.
