LOOK! Filipino-American Plays The Role As Spider-man’s Buddy

Meet Jacob Batalon, a Filipino-American who got to fetch the best buddy role of Spider-man in Jon Watts’ movie “Spider-man: Homecoming”.

SPIDER-MAN –  Jacob Batalon, a Filipino-American was able to land in an important role on the big movie “Spider-man: Homecoming” where he would play the role as the best buddy of the superhero.

According to the news report of the Inquirer, Jacob was born to Filipino parents but was raised in Hawaii.

Tom Holland will be the one to play the role of the remarkable hero and Jacob will be playing Ned Leeds, buddy of ‘Spidey’.

The Fil-Am had sparked his interest in filming and in acting for he was taking a course that would be taken up for 2 years at the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts.

“Spider-man: Homecoming” is the second movie of Jacob. He first appeared at the Anthony Raus’ horror-comedy, “North Woods” where he debuted as Cooper.

In his interview through e-mail with the Inquirer, he was asked as to how he got the role and so he stated: “I actually remember the exact date I got the call that I got the “Spider-Man: Homecoming” role—May 6, 2016. It was probably the best day of my life. The first person I told was my brother-in-law, because I wanted to keep it a surprise to my family. He knows how to keep a secret.”

He even further explained that the moment he told his family about it, they were in state of  “shock” and he then took his family out for dinner right after his graduation in the film school.

Jacob also admitted that he grew up in a ‘typical Filipino home’ where everyone inside the house is speaking the local language and though he could not fluently speak the dialect yet he could fully understand very word.

And he’s only been to the Philippines once.
