Magnitude 5.4 Earthquake Hits Parts Of Luzon, Phivolcs Says
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) announced that a magnitude 5.4 earthquake hits parts of Luzon.
On Thursday (May 25, 2017), a magnitude 5.4 earthquake struck 12-kilometer northeast San Marcelino in Zampales around 10:27 p.m. The volcanology agency said that the powerful tremor was recorded at a depth of 88km.
Some parts of Luzon including Metro Manila, Cavite, Pampanga, Benguet, Bataan, and Bulacan felt a magnitude 5.5 quake, according to Phivolcs. In Makati City, the powerful quake lasts for at least 6 seconds.
Phivolcs science research assistant Tom Simborio give the list of areas, which was struck by the quake with various intensity level.

- Pasay
- Parañaque
- Manila in Metro Manila
- San Juan del Monte and Marilao in Bulacan

- Talisay and Batangas City in Batangas.

- Bacoor in Cavite
- San Jacinto in Pangasinan
Simborio also explained that there was no tsunami alert announced but numerous aftershocks in the area are expected. As of this writings, there are no damage or injuries reported.
