The Country’s Biggest Airlines Has Released Guidelines Over Martial Law Mindanao

The two of the biggest airlines in the Philippines have released their guidelines during the 60 days martial law in Mindanao.

Earlier, President Rodrigo Duterte declared martial law in the whole Mindanao over the gun battle between the ISIS-inspired Maute group and government forces, which turns Marawi City into a chaotic scenery.

The Philippine Airlines (PAL) and Cebu Pacific, two of the country’s airlines have released guidelines and statement for the confirmed ticket holders after the president’s declaration of martial law on the second largest islands in the Philippines.

Biggest Airlines

PAL announced that passengers with confirmed bookings from May 24 to June 30, 2017, may rebook, refund, reroute their flight tickets to and from Mindanao without any penalties until July 2017. Here are the areas included:

  • Butuan
  • Cagayan de Oro
  • Cotabato
  • Dipolog
  • Davao
  • General Santos
  • Ozamiz
  • Surigao
  • Zamboanga

The passengers who have confirmed tickets going to and from these areas are qualified to modify their flight tickets by visiting PAL’s nearest ticketing office or may call the hotline (02) 655-8888.

Here’s the advisory from PAL:

“PUBLIC ADVISORY 23 May 2017

In view of the declaration of Martial Law in Mindanao effective May 23, 2017, PAL passengers holding tickets with confirmed bookings dated May 24 — July 30, 2017 to the Region (Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cotabato, Dipolog, Davao, General Santos, Ozamiz, Surigao and Zamboanga) may avail of any of the following options:

  1. Rebook their tickets without penalty within 90 days from original flight date or within ticket validity period. Reb000king shall be allowed on restricted / non– restricted tickets. Paid seats (Choice Economy and Forward Economy Seats) and pre-paid baggage may be rebooked/ reassociated to the passenger’s new flight date.
  2. Rerouting shall be allowed on restricted/ non-restricted tickets without penalty; additional fares and taxes may be (–foul word(s) removed–)sed, as necessary
  3. Refund their tickets without penalty

For flight rebooking/rerouting / refunding, affected passengers may call PAL Hotline (02) 855 — 8888, visit the nearest PAL ticketing officer or partner travel agent.”
