Nowadays, riding a regular taxi is one of the easiest ways to immediately reach the location of our destination. In some cases, taking a taxi for a ride is not safe especially for the women out there who prefer to ride a taxi rather than a jeep or any public utility vehicles.
A Facebook user named “Sharika Anito” has shared her horrible experience while riding a taxi late at night. She wrote in her post that her experience inside the taxi might already happen to other passengers.
On Sunday evening (May 21, 2017), Anito was at IT Park around 10:45 pm after meeting her groupmates for research. She decided to take a regular taxi instead of riding a jeepney going home because she was already sleepy.
Anito noticed that the driver drove fast and smelled something unpleasant, but she decided to ignore it and hold her breath. She also explained that the smell becomes intense by the time they reach Redemptorist church.
The female passenger said that her chest started to tighten, felt lightheaded, and couldn’t feel her body anymore. She tried to control her feeling until she was able to text her boyfriend to call quickly. Her boyfriend called right away but she couldn’t answer her phone and can’t control her hands.
Sharika felt that her feeling was getting worse and told the driver to drop her and walked towards a hotel nearby. She felt relieved when the taxi started to leave, but she noticed that the taxi was coming back so she hides at the back of another vehicle parked in the area.
She immediately called her boyfriend while shaking and crying because of fear. Her boyfriend arrived after few minutes and brought her in the emergency room of a hospital due to breathing problems.
In the end of her post, she warned the female passenger to more careful and vigilant when riding a taxi late at night. She also reminds the public to take the plate number and brand name of the vehicle.
