Nico Santos Joins Cast of “Crazy Rich Asians”
Filipino comedian Nico Santos will be joining the cast of the highly anticipated movie adaptation of Kevin Kwan’s best-selling novel “Crazy Rich Asians.”
Kevin Kwan and Santos himself confirms his participation on the highly anticipated Hollywood movie. Kwan posted a screenshot of “Deadline’s” report saying “Good morning Philippines! I have some big news to share with you….click the link on my bio line for the story.”
Santos also wrote on his Instagram account “I know I said I was in KL getting some work done but the truth is I’m actually doing some work. SO excited to be a part of this!” He has been known for the hit show “Superstore” playing the character of Mateo.
The comedian will be working together with the Filipina actress Kris Aquino and all Asian cast including Constance Wu, Henry Golding, Gemma Chan, Awkwafina, Michelle Yeoh, and Ken Jeong.
Crazy Rich Asian is the story of a New York native Rachel Chu (Wu) who accompanied her boyfriend Nick Young (Golding) to his best friend’s wedding in Singapore. Rachel was shocked discovering that Nick’s family is among the top wealthy as she meets new friends and enemies.
As of now, the role of Nico Santos in the Hollywood movie was not yet revealed.
