Reportedly, a ‘bias’ reporting was done by Raissa Robles about the shopping of Honeylet Avancena in Hong Kong.
BIAS – Journalist Raissa Robles was reportedly to have a bias reporting about the shopping of Honeylet Avancena, wife of President Rodrigo Duterte.
According to the report made by the Taho News, recently the South China Morning Post reported that Honeylet Avancena was seen shopping at the Times Square in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong.
Cielito “Honeylet” Avancena is also known as the president’s common-law wife.
As SCMP wrote, Avancena was spotted window shopping at Jimmy Choo, a British shoe and bag retailer and stayed for at least 20 minutes inside Salvatore Ferragamo where she was escorted by suited body guards. And the sales lady of the said store would not tell what did Avancena bought.
And as to the written report of Raissa Robles, she wrote it in her own words where she also added her own opinion about the matter.
On the write-up, the journalist mentioned the price of the Ferragamo bags.
The journalist also mentioned that Avancena is a businesswoman and once a nurse in United States but she did not tell that Avancena has a meat shop, canteen catering service, 11 Mister Donut franchises and he is not relying to the support of the president.
She even asked, as reflected on her article, “I hate to bring this up. But this has to be asked because it sets a precedent for similar relationships. As a partner of a sitting public official, is Ms. Avanceña entitled by law to have bodyguards paid with tax money?”
She then further added, “If they are not being paid with tax money, then there is no issue. Recall how the public was enraged when then President Noynoy’s sister, Kris Aquino, hitched a ride on the presidential helicopter a year ago. Because if she is, where do we now draw the line for other public officials?”
On Facebook, she was asked then if what is wrong with the shopping of Avancena ang Roble answered that there is none “just as there is also nothing wrong with writing this”.
