Former first lady Michelle Obama talked to the parents during a health conference.
MICHELLE OBAMA – Former first lady Michelle Obama encouraged the parents to look closely at the recent decision of the government regarding a federal rule which has a goal of making school lunch healthier for students.
Based on a recent news report in Manila Bulletin, former first lady of the United States Michelle Obama has raised some questions to the parents during a health conference held in Washington.
“You have to stop and think, ‘Why don’t you want our kids to have good food at school? What is wrong with you and why is that a partisan issue?” Michelle said based on the report.
According to the former first lady, millions of children across the nation eat not-so-healthy foods that is why there is really a need for healthier school meals.
Based on the news report, it was on the first day of the month of May when Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue spoke regarding the delay of the requirement to lessen sodium in the meals offered in schools.
Furthermore, the Agriculture Secretary also shared about his plan not to stop releasing waivers to a rule which asks for the serving of more whole grains.
According to the report, the changes in the meals eaten by students in schools are related to the recommendations of the association of firms that sell foods to schools and the school directors assigned specifically in nutrition.
Aside from urging the parents to look at the recent move of the government, the former first lady of US also shared that she and former President Barack Obama would spend the year contemplating on what’s next in their lives.
Based on the report, January 20 was the last day of the Obama family in the White House. Former Pres. Obama was succeeded by Pres. Donald Trump.
