The bet of the Philippines, John Raspado, in Mr. Gay World 2017 steals away the title as he bested other contestants.
JOHN RASPADO – The Philippines bet John Raspado in Mr. Gay World 2017 stole the title from other contestants coming from the different part of the world.
According to the report of Rappler on their site, he won the title on Wednesday, May 10 of this year and is the very first win for the Philippines for such pageant.
The pageant was held in Spain and Wilbert Tolentino, the Mr. Gay World Philippines Organizer, confirmed the good news through Facebook.
Based on the post, he said, “Big Congratulations to John Fernandez Raspado for giving honor to our country and for winning Best in Swimwear, Best in Formal Wear, Mr Gay World Closed Door Interview, Mr. Online Vote, Mr Social Media special awards in Maspalomas, Spain.”
The victory of John Raspado does not only end with the prestigious title for he also won several awards which was stated above accordingly to the post of Tolentino.

1st runner-up – Candido Arteaga, Spain
2nd runner-up – Raf Van Puymbroeck, Belgium
3rd runner-up – Marco Tornese , Switzerland

On his message after his triumph which he posted on the Facebook page of Mr. Gay World Philippines, he thanked everyone who has been with him all the time during his journey to get the title most especially to Wilbert Tolentino.
And he also stretched out his gratefulness to his fellow contestants and importantly, to the Belgium and Venezuela of whom she shares a room.
Mr. Gay World is global competition empowering gay men and give them a venue to demonstrate “both inward beauty and physical appearance are equally important as is leadership and confidence”.
Another honor and pride has been added to the Philippines.
